~ It is much cheaper to go offseason because there are fewer tourists for the resorts to compete for
~ Fees are sometimes charged for booking airfares over the phone so book online instead
~ Try which compares prices of various websites for airfares of major airlines
~ Check websites for discount airlines such as Southwest, Allegiant, and AirTran
~ Booking early is no longer a bargain as it used to be
~ Use only a carry-on if you can to avoid crazy baggage fees that airlines now charge
~ Midweek lodging is much cheaper than weekends
~ Check online for discount lodging then call the hotel to see if they have a better price
~ Watch out for prepayment restrictions or cancellation fees
~ If you book a deal and then see a better one later call back and see if they will adjust your price
~ Look for specials such as book 2 nights get one free
~ Beware of fees for parking your car at many resorts because they will stack up
